KAWS 2023 Class Proposals

The Kaw Valley Fiber Guild will be hosting the annual statewide conference of the Kansas Alliance of Weavers & Spinners in Lawrence, Kansas, from June 9-10, 2023.

This year’s conference theme is: Connect, Learn, Create and is hosted by the Kaw Valley Fiber Guild. Proposals must be received by March 15, 2023. Accepted proposals will be notified by March 27, 2023.

Only sessions for which an application has been submitted will be considered. Classes may include any fiber related skill or technique.

All classes will be held on Saturday. Class lengths are: (you may combine class times as needed; for example if you need a class that is 3 hours and 15 minutes, you would check the 1 hour 15 minutes AND 2 hour times)
● 1 hour 15 minutes
● 1 hour 30 minutes
● 2 hours

Instructors will collect material fees from participants for supplies provided by the instructor for the class. Any fee for materials needs to be noted in the Class Session Proposal.

Instructors will be given a 50% discount on the KAWS 2023 conference and free lunch on Saturday. If you would like to teach a class please click on the link below. If you would like to teach more than one class, please use a separate proposal form for each class.

KAWS 2023 Vendor Opportunities

The Kaw Valley Fiber Guild will be hosting the annual statewide conference of the Kansas Alliance of Weavers & Spinners in Lawrence, Kansas, from June 9-10, 2023.


We are looking for vendors for Friday evening and Saturday. Space is limited; booth spaces will be filled on a first come-first served basis.

Vendors will be present Friday evening and all day on Saturday, complementing the morning and afternoon classes, luncheon, keynote address, and a Friday evening program.

The Friday night reception and the Saturday events will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 2415 Clinton Parkway, Lawrence, KS (near 23rd and Iowa). Sunday’s schedule includes a Dye Day at a different location in Lawrence.

  • Friday set up: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
  • Friday sale time: 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm
  • Saturday : Church will be open at 6:30 am
  • Saturday sale time: 7:30 am – 5:00 pm (Open to the public from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm)
  • Saturday pack up times: 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm

The exterior doors of the church will be locked when the conference is not in session.

The booths will be 10’ x 10’. We will provide one table and two chairs per booth. Electricity will be available on a shared, limited basis. Vendors will be responsible for collecting and submitting sales tax.

The fee for each vendor space is $35. Checks can be made payable to the Kaw Valley Fiber Guild. Please click on the link below and fill out the application form.

Final notification of booth space will require that the $35 vendor fee be submitted.
