The 2026 KAWS conference will be held on October 9 & 10 in Manhattan, with the theme “Threads Through Time”. The location is Pottorf Hall, 1710 Avery Avenue.
The Board meeting will be Friday evening followed by a reception and opportunity to show off what fibers you have been working with recently.
On Saturday we have scheduled classes throughout the day. Marla Day, from KSU College of Health & Human Sciences, will be joining us over lunch to share about Nelly Don, a women’s clothing company founded by Nell Donnelly Reed. KAWS President Janet Hamous will then hold our business meeting before the afternoon classes.
The conference will include guild exhibits, vendors on Friday evening and Saturday, the Pete Soeken Award for weaving and KVFG Award for spinning, and classes on Saturday morning and afternoon.
Schedule and class information
The conference fee of $75 includes lunch; class fees will be paid directly to the instructors. Registration information will be available soon.
FYI – this is a K-State football weekend, so it’s a good idea to book your hotel room sooner rather than later!
