The Kansas Alliance of Weavers and Spinners (KAWS) was organized in 1979.

Our purpose is to provide a vehicle for communication, education and cooperation between organized groups of weavers and spinners in the state of Kansas, as well as those individuals without access to local groups.

We also promote high standards of craftsmanship through exhibits, competitions, workshops, meetings or other means.

Another goal is to stimulate public interest in weaving and spinning and an appreciation for the creativity and craftsmanship involved in these endeavors.
